  1. S T A I R W A Y    Instructions

  4. STAIRWAY is a word game that will put your vocabulary skills to the test.
  5.  
  6. The object of STAIRWAY is to create 6 words with a length of 2 thru 7 
  7. characters. The starting letter for ALL the words will be the same and will be
  8. selected, by the computer, at the start of each game.
  9.  
  10. Then you enter a word, the program will check it's dictionary and accept the 
  11. word ONLY if the word is found in the dictionary. There may very well be words
  12. that are not in the dictionary and we will update the dictionary as soon as we
  13. receive word from the Sysop.

  15. Scoring will be based on the value assigned to each letter in the word. Letter
  16. values of between 65 and 90 will be randomly chosen at the start of each game.

  23. If you have not filled in any of the steps (the first step does NOT count as it
  24. is filled by the computer) you will lose 1000 points.

  26. You will receive BONUS points, defined by the Sysop, when you complete all 
  27. steps.

  29. Want to send messages to other STAIRWAY players? Use the (M)essage option on
  30. the STAIRWAY game menu. If the option is NOT visible, ask the SYSOP if he/she
  31. could make it available.
